A safari in Laikipia, situated on the earth’s midline of the equator, takes one to the high-lying ground at the foot of the majestic Mount Kenya. It has hugely productive rangelands that sustain good herds of game and a full suit of carnivores, including the wonderfully entertaining and rare endangered African Wild Dog. All this happens within the shadow of the impressive and iconic Mount Kenya as a backdrop.
The Laikipia plateau lies to the west of Mount Kenya and is home to some of Kenya’s best safari camps and exceptional wildlife. One can spend an entire safari in this region taking in the incredible space, views and big game. As the safaris all happen on private ranchland or community conservancies, there are a host of great activities from horse-riding and walking safaris to behind the scenes work with anti-poaching teams that can be experienced here. Our team have first hand experience having worked in and trained guides for this area and we are exceptionally well placed to unlock both the overt and hidden beauty of this space.
