Land-locked between a number of Southern African countries including the DRC, Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Angola and Tanzania, it is a fusion of all these different worlds and also intrinsically simply Zambian. Wonderful national parks exist on the mighty Zambezi, Luangwa and Kafue Rivers. Game viewing in Zambia is excellent and walking safaris have been a cornerstone of a safari for many years. The World Heritage Site of the Victoria Falls is easily accessible on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River, whether for a relaxed visit or one filled with adventure activities. One thing you can be sure of here is the abundance of biodiversity – be it the big 5 or vast numbers of spectacular birds – Zambia has it all.
Zambia offers the safari goer a great deal of diversity and exceptional game viewing regardless of which part of the country you chose to explore. There are wonderful walking destinations on offer in this part of the world and of course the Luangwa Valley is quite appropriately referred to as the “valley of leopards” – offering some of the world’s finest leopard viewing here. There are offer fascinating and slightly “off beat” offerings outside of the traditional such as the Shoebills at Bangweulu and the massive bat migration to be marvelled at. Marvel at the “Smoke that thunders” at the Victoria Falls from the Livingstone side of the falls. Zambia is a must!
