Chiawa – Zambia

On the banks of the Zambezi River, under a grove of evergreen Mahogany trees, Chiawa Camp holds the prime position in the heart of Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park.

A stunning thatched lounge/bar area with upstairs viewing deck provides one of the best views of the Zambezi River, and a fantastic setting to watch the sun set over another day in Africa. After enjoying Chiawa’s renowned cuisine on the al-fresco dining veranda, one can relax by the open camp fire with a cocktail in-hand, reminiscing upon the day’s adventures before retiring for the night. Each of the tents are a sanctuary of luxury and tranquillity.

Also available for guests’ enjoyment and relaxation are two perfectly positioned game viewing hides and a gorgeous swimming pool with timber sun deck overlooking the Zambezi.

For the more active, a small but well equipped, secluded Exercise Area with a splendid view of the Zambezi is available for guests who might wish to work off some calories or keep up their fitness levels.

Star gazing in the ‘splash tubs’ or from the lounge after a full day safaring in the Lower Zambezi; sundowners on the Zambezi River or canoeing down the ‘waterbuck island’ channel are signature experiences at Chaiwa Camp. Old Mondoro is acclaimed for its incredible walking safaris – giving you a chance to see, touch and smell the ‘real’ Africa.

Shumba Camp

The intimate Shumba Camp is set in the middle of the productive Busanga Plains in Kafue. From here there is easy access to game-rich floodplains and water-based activities in season. Night drives and hot-air ballooning add to the allure of an exciting safari here in Kafue.

Sasaab

The luxurious Sasaab is located on a Samburu community conservancy west of the Samburu National Reserve. Exploring by vehicle, on foot or by camel you can encounter the special arid-zone ‘Samburu Special Five’ (Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk and Somali Ostrich) as well as traditional big game.

Matemwe Retreat

Matemwe Retreat consists of just four private villas, each with expansive views east to the turquoise Indian Ocean. The villas serve either as a self-contained base to unwind in privacy or to set out an explore Zanzibar and its many treasures. Scuba diving and other water-based activities are the highlight here.

Kilindi Zanzibar

Mnemba Island is the ultimate in East African island luxury. With it’s gentle rhythm and laid back style it is the perfect way to end a long safari. There is good scuba diving and snorkelling to be had and the opportunity to glimpse the very rare small antelope, the Ader’s Duiker. You will not want to leave!

Sanctuary Swala

Sanctuary Swala is a luxury eco-friendly camp set in a tall Acacia grove in the west of Tarangire National Park. The camp waterhole is an attraction for game and the woodland birds are easy to see. Exciting game drives are definitely part of the Swala experience.

Oliver’s Camp is THE quintessential safari camp in Tarangire National Park and indeed much of Tanzania. The spacious open rooms soak in the views over a floodplain which is a haven for game especially in the dry season. Madikwe Safari Lodge

Madikwe Safari Lodge is made up of 3 small camps adjacent to eachother on a rocky hillside. Wide open views of the Madikwe wilderness compliment the hospitality and great game-viewing that is a feature of this fascinating reserve.

Kanga Camp

Kanga Camp is in a remote part of Mana Pools about an hour away from the river near a vital wildlife-rich spring. This intimate camp is set in a riverine zone, one of the many habitats to be found here.

Ruckomechi

Ruckomechi is situated in a private concession within Mana Pools. Scenery is spectacular with views to the Zambezi River and over to Zambia as well as the large Ana trees which the elephants favour. The area is famed for excellent dry season game viewing on land as well as on the river.

The Hide

The Hide is an award-winning tented safari camp placed on the edge of a seasonal floodplain. The big attraction is the underground photographic hide at the waterhole as well as the privacy of the concession. A night out at the Dove’s Nest should be a highlight too!

Little Makalolo

Little Makalolo is a light footprint tented camp in the heart of a large private concession in Hwange. The game viewing here is excellent particularly in the dry season when herds and predators come to the ‘Little Mak’ waterhole and cheetah are often found on the surrounding plains.
